Problems

Benchmarking

The Benchmarking problem challenges the students to run the Intel MPI Benchmarks, but things aren't always as straight forward as they may seem.

Square Deal

The SquareDeal problem challenges the students to correctly code a mathematically-oriented problem efficiently.

Debugging

The Debugging problem walks you through a real bugger of a problem.

Gravity is Heavy

The Gravity problem is quite a gadget.

Sanity, or Lack thereof

GROMACS is the tool of choice for dynamic molecules

RT Instructions

If you encounter any problems throughout the competition that you think are a system problem (a.k.a not your fault) you can submit a ticket to us via the RT system.

Creating an RT ticket from the web interface

1. Login to RT.
2. In the drop-down menu at the top, select EdProg, and click on New Ticket.
3. Put in a subject and message, and click on Create Ticket.

Creating an RT ticket via email

1. Send an email to edprog-rt@cs.earlham.edu with a subject and message body for the ticket. Example:
   1. Subject: PXE booting is not working
   2. Body: Client nodes fail to PXE boot with this error message: ...
2. You should receive a confirmation email with a ticket number.
3. When corresponding with an RT ticket via email, keep the subject intact to have it be routed to the right ticket.
